She just can't stay away! Mrs. Julie James, twice retired, is returning to Oak Grove as our dyslexia interventionist on a temporary basis. We know she will be moving sometime this year, but we are so lucky to have her step in where there was a need, AGAIN! Thank you, Mrs. James!

Here is the team that feeds and serves our Hornets breakfast and lunch every day. Ms. Vivian Taylor, Ms. Sharron Johnson, and Ms. Amber Johnson. Thank you, ladies for helping us be ready to learn!

Introducing Security Officer Felicia Lewis-Felders to the Oak Grove family. She jumped right in and is already an asset to the team. Welcome Officer Felders when you see her in the car line, walking the hallways, or on the grounds.

It was a great first week of school at Oak Grove Elementary! It wouldn't have been possible without our fantastic support staff. Ms. Tindall and Mr. DK, preK paras, work closely with their teachers and as a team to keep our littlest Hornets safe and healthy while they learn through play.

It's been a good to start to the school year so far. However, we're experiencing a loss felt in the Robinson feeder and across PCSSD. Officer Victor Montgomery was fatally injured on Monday morning during traffic duty. We miss you! https://trst.in/Po0AW4 #pcssdproud #serveall

Thank you Mrs. Hodge for helping our students however you can! Earlier this week during breakfast, she sat down with a student who was having trouble with his shoes. An extra hand and a little encouragement can go a long way!

'Twas the night before school starts,
And you could feel it in the air.
The creatures were stirring:
Hornets, Comets. Senators, and Bears!
The Hornets were buzzing
With excitement for the year,
As Maumelle got ready
To hoot, holler, and cheer!
The Comets are zooming,
Moving at lightning speed
For a great, new school year,
Guaranteed!
The Senators are ready
To make their mark.
Leading in the community
From the school to the park.
And the Bears are waking
From summer hibernation,
To take on the school year
Ready and unshaken.
So go to bed
And get some rest
As we begin tomorrow anew
To make this school year the best!
