What a great Field Day at Oak Grove! Thank you to Coach White and the student athletes from Maumelle High School for your support. We thanks to the parents who volunteered and the tired teachers who are sleeping well tonight!
Rain or shine--Field Day is a GO for tomorrow, Tuesday May 20th. Games will begin at 9:00. Only approved volunteers may attend. Please arrange with your child's teacher how you can help. In the afternoon, we will have the Fire Department here to spray us down with the water hose! Please wear some old shoes that are ok to get muddy, and let your child what is ok to get wet in the afternoon. If it's sunny, don't forget sunscreen or a hat! We will have bottles of water to help keep everyone hydrated. Stay tuned for some fun-filled pictures tomorrow night!

Thursday night PCSSD honored teacher and support staff of the year from each school. Congratulations to Ashlea Blakely, Oak Grove's Teacher of the Year and Janet Peach, OGE's Support Staff of the Year. These two make a great team and do good things for all kids! Oak Grove Car Rider Families: Please help us maintain safety for our students and the community during dismissal. We do have additional cars waiting since AfterSchool Care is closed for the school year. Please do not block the bus exit, stay off of your cell phone, and be aware that we have students and parents who walk home. School dismisses at 2:45; we try to get cars off the road quickly. I have requested an additional patrol from the Sheriff's office at dismissal. Stay safe! Mrs. Hodge
Student Council raised a total of $497.01 from our Penny Wars Competition. The money was donated to The Grove Food Pantry. Special Thank you to Pastor Travis Matthews and Hannah Lamb for their community support.

Lunch will be in the cafeteria, a time to cool off and refuel. In the afternoon, the fire department will cool us off with the fire hose! You will need to dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. Bring sunscreen or a hat to prevent sunburn. Please bring a disposable or plastic water bottle. bring a towel or change of clothes for the water fun in the afternoon. Parents, if you are an approved volunteer and wish to help, contact your child's teacher. This event is for OGE students only.
Kindergarten Parents: Get ready to celebrate the end of the year with our Kinder-bration on Thursday, May 22 at 1:30 PM in the school cafeteria. Arrive early because you won't want to miss the student entrance! Remember to bring your ID to check in at the office. Have your camera ready, too, to capture some great memories!
5th Grade Families, Please make plans to attend the Class of 2032, 5th grade promotion ceremony on Thursday, May 22nd at 9:00 AM. It will be held in Oak Grove Elementary's cafeteria. Join us for refreshments after the ceremony. Please arrive early and bring your ID to check in at the office.
Oak Grove's Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week finished up Friday with some fun and games. Thanks to Bobby's Cafe, Chicken Salad Chick, Cheers in Maumelle, and local vendors for their generous donations. Thank you also to Arkansas Property Management and Real Estate for the surprises, and to the McQuay family for the cookie tray. It was so nice to be remembered by the community. If anyone has been left out, please count it to the end of the school year, and not our hearts!
Today Oak Grove Elementary achieved our designation as a Heart Safe School! We are very grateful to the team from Project Adam, Oak Grove Elementary Fire Department and MEMS as well as our own first responders for a very successful test.

Thursday we enjoyed partnering with a local food truck, The Coffee Coop to start our day with a great cup of coffee. The in the afternoon we were blessed with a nacho bar from parent Angel Oz. We are thankful for our new friends and familiar faces.
