Happy Diwali! Diwali is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. #pcssdproud #serveall

Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed tonight. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. - meaning you "gain" an hour of sleep. There are only two states that don't observe DST: Hawaii and Arizona (with the exception of Navajo Nation). #pcssdproud #serveall

Everyone loves a parade! Oak Grove celebrated the October AVID day with a college parade highlighting our research about Arkansas colleges. Every K-5 student made a sash with information they learned in small groups or as a class, and then cheered on each other as they lined the parade route. Way to go students and teachers!

Happy Halloween! Did you know: Halloween originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. What kind of costume will you be wearing tonight (to ward off ghosts, of course 👻)? #pcssdproud #serveall

This year our school theme is Level Up. At the beginning of the 2nd quarter, students and staff wore their favorite gaming t-shirts to remind us to Level Up this quarter! We have set goals for Lexia, IXL, Accelerated Reader, and each classroom has a behavior goal. Setting small goals and working hard to meet them will help us meet our school goals!
