Today is Leap Day! Leap years exist because it actually takes the planet a little bit more than a year to orbit the sun. That time is rounded down to the 365 days we recognize as a typical year, those nearly six extra hours don't disappear. Leap years are added to account for the difference. The Griot Players, a group of SYLVAN HILLS HIGH students, visited two feeder elementary schools as part of the school's theatre arts program touring group. The Griot Players put on a Black History Month performance for students at OAKBROOKE and WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON ELEMENTARY. It was a great way to expose the students to Black History through theatre arts.
