
During the school year, SYLVAN HILLS HIGH has the opportunity for two students to represent our school and student body at the monthly Board of Education meetings. Last week, Terrion Hughes represented our school at the April meeting. We're so thankful for his hard work and willingness to represent the Bears. Way to go, Terrion!

It's a rare sight to see Math in Motion! Every year students in Ms. Litten's Pre-Calculus class perform a pendulum swinging lab to see how harmonic motion produces a sinusoidal pattern. This is a great opportunity for students to learn all 8 standards for mathematical practice at once!
1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.
2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
4. Model with mathematics.
5. Use appropriate tools strategically.
6. Attend to precision.
7. Look for and make use of structure.

Sylvan Hills High is proud to announce our teacher of the year for this 2023-2024 school year - Ms. Robin Dunlap! We are so thankful to have Ms. Dunlap as part of our staff. She is truly an inspiration for our students in all that she does around our school, especially with our life skills students! She will represent Sylvan Hills High at the next level to compete for the title of PCSSD Teacher of the Year! Congrats, Ms. Dunlap!


Students in Ms. Bailey's class are acting out Act II, Scene I, from 'A Raisin in the Sun' by Lorraine Hansberry. Each class was assigned a different piece of Scene I to recreate.The best video from each class will be shared with the classes next week and receive bonus points! What a creative way to allow students to experience a novel through filming, directing, creating props, acting, and editing their videos.
