Parents,

Thank you so much for all of you in attendance last Thursday evening. We know we gave you a lot of information. Here is everything we presented and some additional handouts that may help you as we prepare for next year. Thank you all for your questions. Please continue to reach out throughout the process if you need guidance from our counseling team. We hope you each have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to working with you in the future.

Registration Timeline

January 7-8

SHJHS

January 9-12

SHHS

High School counselors will be going to Sylvan Hills Junior High on January 7-8 and in the high school classrooms on January 9-12 to begin the registration process. During this time, counselors will go over available courses and differentiate the different levels of courses available to them. We will also have them complete a paper registration form to bring home for parents to help complete this process. Everywhere there is a highlighted area, a course is needed for graduation.

For electives on the back page, students will number in order of preference. (1 would be a top priority, 10 would be a low priority) All courses on the selection sheet are subject to being chosen, so choose intentionally.

Paper Forms Due and Entry on HAC

February 6, 2026

Verifications Due - expect via parent email by January 28, 2026

Meeting Resources

  • All students will receive a new access code when counselors meet with them to ensure access and maximize being able to help each student. Students will be prompted to choose a new password at this time. This will be a district wide reset that will occur the first week of the new semester.

  • Elective clarification- On the back of the student’s paper registration forms, we want students to choose all the way up to ten electives. In HAC, they will only enter up to 7 class periods. Depending on where they are with required courses, students will vary in the amount of elective periods. So you will enter up to 7 selections total including core classes. The alternate courses will be entered by counselors. The total at the bottom should be 7.0 for the schedule to be complete.

  • ASPIRE Clarification - The last class to be able to use ASPIRE Scores are School Year 2022-2023 9th grade class (SY 2026 Seniors).
