Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed tonight. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. - meaning you "gain" an hour of sleep. There are only two states that don't observe DST: Hawaii and Arizona (with the exception of Navajo Nation). #pcssdproud #serveall

Coach Nicholson, Ms. Nickel, and the RHS Science Club planned a Halloween Spooktacular! Students created flying ghosts out of tea bags, made "elephant toothpaste" for a fun jack-o-lantern effect, used dry ice to make crystal ball bubbles, created some magic potions with an iodine clock reaction, and then played with oobleck and made bath bombs with a spooky surprise inside!
Celebrated in Mexico, Día de los Muertos has roots in both ancient Aztec customs and All Souls' Day introduced by the Spanish in the 1500s. This holiday centers on families gathering to pay respect to friends and family who have died. #pcssdproud #serveall
We are so excited to announce that for the first time in our school's history, we had two choir students make the National American Choral Directors Association Honor Choir!! Sophomore Kate Mitchell was selected as an Alto in the 8-10 Treble Choir, and Junior Cadence Garbett was selected as a Bass in the 11-12 SATB Choir.
This is an incredible feat for any choir student across the country. This year there were over 5,000 students who auditioned to get one of over 1,200 placements.
When you see these two choir students please take a moment and congratulate them on earning this national achievement!
🎃Happy Halloween!🎃 If your family celebrates, share what your student will dress up as this year! #pcssdproud #serveall
Student Choice is an important part of the educational atmosphere, even when it comes to student nutrition! Chef King prepared grilled chicken sandwiches with roasted red pepper mayo and Caribbean BBQ pulled pork sandwiches for the students to sample. Students then voted on which one they'd prefer to see added to their cafeteria menu. It was close, but the Caribbean BBQ pulled pork came out on top!
PCSSD schools had a great night at the Region 1 Marching Band Assessment last week!
