It's National Handwashing Awareness Week. There IS a proper way to wash your hands:
Wet hands w/ clean, running water (warm or cold)
Apply soap
Scrub front & back of hands, between fingers, & under nails for 20 sec
Rinse hands w/ clean, running water
Dry hands using a clean towel

- Touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
- Touching your mask
- Entering and leaving a public place
- Touching a surface that may be frequently touched by other people


Today is World AIDS Day. Today we unite in the fight against HIV. World AIDS Day was founded in 1988 and was the first ever global health day.


November is Native American Heritage Month. Programs across the country work tirelessly to preserve the stories and heritage of the original inhabitants of the land. But some tribes are keeping traditions alive, including American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.

Maumelle Middle has quarantined an increasing number of staff and students who are identified as probable close contacts. Therefore, Maumelle Middle will pivot to virtual instruction for all students through December 4. Students will return to normal instructional platforms on Monday, December 7. All teachers will communicate with students through Schoology. If you would like to receive a 4-day meal box, please call the school at 501-234-4517 tomorrow (Tuesday, December 1) between 8am - 10am to make your request. The meal boxes will be available for pick up tomorrow between 11am - 1pm at the door closest to the cafeteria.

November is Child Safety Protection Month. There are some important steps to take to keep children safe outside like checking play areas to ensure lawn equipment, tools, or other yard items, like branches, are put away to prevent injury. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence
