Baker students participated in our annual “PBIS Kickoff” where we recognize and celebrate the expectations that make a good student. Here at Baker, we are respectful, responsible, motivated and committed! Ms.Hudson’s class found all the missing horseshoes that the horseshoe bandit had “stolen” and put back together the word “responsible!"

Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour when you go to bed tonight. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. - meaning you "gain" an hour of sleep. There are only two states that don't observe DST: Hawaii and Arizona (with the exception of Navajo Nation). #pcssdproud #serveall

Celebrated in Mexico, Día de los Muertos has roots in both ancient Aztec customs and All Souls' Day introduced by the Spanish in the 1500s. This holiday centers on families gathering to pay respect to friends and family who have died. #pcssdproud #serveall

Baker Parents, we need your help! Our candy monster is still quite hungry. If you haven't already, please send a large bag of candy to school with your student for our annual Wants and Needs event tomorrow. If your schedule allows, we could really use some additional help with volunteers for Wants and Needs and volunteers for the PBIS Kickoff on Friday afternoon as well. Click the links below for more information about volunteering for either event. Thank YOU for playing such a critical role in supporting the work of the Baker Family! Meet Two Visionary Pioneers of Baker Elementary! 4th graders Demi Washington and Sophia Stricklin dreamed big and made it happen! These two passionate leaders took the initiative to propose a Student Council for Baker Elementary Pulaski County Special School District! Spending time outside of school to build a solid plan and presentation, they sent their proposal to Principal Dr. Valencia Essel and Counselor Doris Brown. Thanks to the encouragement of Dr. Essel and Mrs. Brown, who value student voices and promote leadership among all students, Demi and Sophia were given the green light to make their dream a reality! Now serving as Student Council President, Demi Washington and Vice President, Sophia Stricklin, are thrilled to kick off the journey of establishing the council. Stay tuned! Information on next steps will be coming home for students in grades 3rd-5th and their parents. Let's celebrate this incredible example of student leadership! #BakerProud #BakerElementary #StudentCouncil #BakerBroncos
