HOOAH! to the Mills University Studies High School’s JROTC Academic Team in being selected to compete in Level II of the National JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl Competition. The academic team members who will advance to the next round include:

The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB) is a nationally recognized academic competition created exclusively for JROTC students. Level II starts February 1 and continues through February 5, 2022. The national competition culminates in the Level III JLAB Championship June 24-28, 2022 in Washington, D.C.
Original Story: November 19, 2021Select cadets from Mills University Studies High School JROTC completed Level I of the national JRTOC Leadership and Academic Bowl Competition (JLAB) on November 17, 2021.
JLAB is a nationally recognized academic competition created exclusively for JROTC students. These cadets are dedicated to studying scholarly academics and the skills that surround leadership. Team members strive to achieve the highest GPA possible in an effort to gain knowledge and prepare for testing. By participating, cadets learn the values of citizenship, leadership, academic competition, and college opportunity.
Based on their final results, Comet Battalion Cadets will have the opportunity to advance to Round II of the competition which takes place February 1 - 15, 2022. The team members included are listed below:

The JROTC JLAB competition is an all-service national competition that culminates in the Level III JLAB Championship in Washington, DC. The top 32 Academic Teams and top 40 Leadership Teams will qualify to attend the Round III advancing to the Championship in Washington, DC.
There are many benefits of participating in the Academic Bowl. These benefits include, but are not limited to, improving SAT/ACT scores; increasing interest in college admissions; and demonstrating academic strength of JROTC program. Additionally team members learn how to boost "esprit de corps" and have the chance to earn the opportunity to travel to our nation’s capital.
