November is Native American Heritage Month. Some well known inventions by Native Americans include anesthetics and topical pain relievers, corn, and kayaks. But some lesser known contributions include syringes, cable suspension bridges, hammocks, baby bottles, and mouthwash.
November is Child Safety Protection Month. There are some important steps to take to keep children safe outside like checking play areas to ensure lawn equipment, tools, or other yard items, like branches, are put away to prevent injury. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence
A NOTE from PTO :
We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our RMS teachers and staff. To show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication this first semester, the PTO will be providing a "gift card buffet" at the Holiday Luncheon on December 8th. Each and every staff person will have the opportunity to choose a gift card from the buffet. We are asking parents to please donate for this specific purpose. You do NOT need to purchase the cards yourselves - PTO will take care of the purchases.
To participate, please visit our PTO store (https://Robinson-middle-pto.square.site). Or you may send an envelope to school with marked "PTO Teacher Appreciation" and have your student bring it to the front office. $20 will purchase 1 gift card, but any donation amount is appreciated! All donations will go directly toward Teacher Appreciation.
Please note that this program is taking the place of our traditional Adopt-a-Teacher program as we adapt to COVID. We will offer a similar opportunity in the Spring as well. Fingers crossed we can return to Adopt-a-Teacher next year!
We LOVE our teachers and staff - thank you for helping us show them we care!

Our Robinson Volunteers are AMAZING!
Even with limited access and following CDC guidelines, parents and community members are still volunteering in various aspects for the greater good of students and staff.
Volunteers have continued a long standing tradition here at RMS…going over and beyond to make a difference.
Besides actual participation in volunteering for events, Volunteers can count their travel and preparation time for each activity. If you have donated and shopped for donations for teacher gifts, luncheons/breakfasts, etc.; it all counts towards hours.
Please take the time to complete the PALS form for documentation of hours contributed.
If you would rather email your hours, email to:
tscott4418@pcssd.org
Please have your hours submitted by Friday 11/20/20.
Thank you again for the gift of your time and making a difference.

Our PBIS store (incentive store that rewards students for good behavior) is getting low on supplies. If you would like to donate to the store, there is a list of what the students like below. Your child can drop off your donation in the office with Mrs. McGibbony.
The following items can be found at Five Below: lanyards, color changing led speakers, fuzzy animal keychains, spa face masks, journals, and earbuds
The following treats have also been a hit: full-sized Starbursts, Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Sour Punch Straws, Reese’s, Snickers, Twix, Hershey’s and snack-sized bags of chips.
If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
