Hello, RMS Families! This message is to provide you with Winter NWEA testing information. Traditional and Blended A students will test on campus Monday January 11 - Wednesday January 13. Blended B students will test on campus Thursday January 14 and Friday January 15. VIRTUAL ONLY students testing begins Monday, January 11th-January 13th. Beginning Monday, January 11th,VIRTUAL students will report to their first period Google Meet link as usual so that teachers can take attendance. Students will then join grade level virtual testing links for Winter MAP Testing. VIRTUAL testing begins at 9:15 am each morning. 6th grade virtual testers will join Mrs. Katie Johnson's virtual testing link https://meet.google.com/sjf-gaiw-ecz. 7th grade virtual testers will join Mr. Aaron Trost's virtual testing link http://meet.google.com/akv-tymv-hev. 8th grade virtual testers will join Ms. Catherine Ziller's virtual testing link https://meet.google.com/uox-gjpz-foj. Dear RMS Families, Please note that there has been a change to our MEGA-Fest Celebration. Due to the high numbers of Covid -19 cases in Arkansas, we have made some changes that will be in the best interest of students and staff. The biggest change is that we will not be in the gym for the celebration. We will live stream the performances and activities in the gymnasium and students will watch the performances in the classrooms or at home virtually (please see the link below). We still intend to have concessions as well as movie time. Concessions will be in the cafeteria and students have a good understanding of guidelines to follow when they are eating. Students that have bought tickets already will receive concession items (hot dogs and sweet treats). Below is our schedule and we will have door prizes throught-out the celebration. With this shift, it does allow both online and face to face students a chance to be a part of the event. Thanks for understanding, it should be a fun celebration! Have a great night. Each grade level will have a festival in the gym where there is abundant space to maintain social distancing and adhere to CDC guidelines. Each grade level will also enjoy a holiday movie spectacular. Tickets for MEGA Fest are only $2.00. Tickets will be entered for a chance to win prizes. Students can purchase tickets before school in the office or during lunch. Tickets will be sold this week December 14th through December 18th. Please bring the exact amount to avoid multiple exchanges. It will be spectacular and MEGA fun!

Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to recognize the 2,403 people killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The USS Arizona & USS Utah were destroyed in the attack. The USS Shaw (pictured) was hit with 3 bombs, but salvaged, repaired, & returned to combat in Aug. 1942.
