March is Women's History Month. Bessie Grace Boehm Moore created the first county library in Pine Bluff and served on the National Advisory Committee on Libraries under President Lyndon Johnson. Moore was inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2018.

March is Women's History Month. Karen Flake is the president and CEO of Mount St. Mary Academy and, in 1996, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority. Flake was inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2018.

STATEMENT 2/3: In a statement on Wednesday, March 11, it was announced that Governor Hutchinson has the sole authority to close public school campuses. PCSSD will continue to work closely with state offices and health departments as we monitor the progress of COVID-19.

STATEMENT 1/3: Per direction by the Governor of Arkansas, Pulaski County Special School District will be closed until March 30. The decision came after an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases across the nation.

March is Women's History Month. Bettye Caldwell played an integral role in the development of Head Start and was named one of Ladies' Home Journal's 10 Women of the Year in 1978. Caldwell moved to Arkansas in the 1960s and inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2016.

SECOND SEMESTER VOLUNTEER HOURS ARE DUE MARCH 13TH 2020! PALS (People Assisting Local Schools) Volunteer Hours are due March 13th. Anyone who has volunteered in any capacity from November 23, 2019-March 13, 2020, should email their time to Toni Scott at: tscott4418@pcssd.org Besides actual participation in volunteering for events, Volunteers can count their travel and preparation time for each activity. Also if you have donated and shopped for donations for dances, teacher gifts, luncheons/breakfasts,etc.... All that counts towards hours. Chaperoning any event, assisting teachers with activities, fundraisers, tutoring students, library helpers, weekend events,etc...It all matters! Your time is valuable and we are so appreciative and grateful of how very generous you all are in sharing yours with the students and staff of Robinson Middle! -- Robinson Middle School has received the honor of having the highest number of volunteer hours for the last 14 years!!! Truly a testament to the commitment of this community to serve the students and staff of Robinson in being the very best! Thank you again for helping get the word out. --
