HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- Students from Maumelle High, Joe T. Robinson High and Sylvan Hills High made a strong showing at the Arkansas Young Artist Association (AAYA) Convention and Competition, held April 17th at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
AAYA, the largest organization for visual arts students in the state, includes over 60 high schools and 1,500 students. This year, 77 schools were represented with over 1,800 artworks. During the AAYA On-Site Competition, student artists are given a prompt to create a piece during an allotted amount of time. Awards are given in each category. Fourteen PCSSD students received state-level recognition.
